During these challenging times, Lafayette’s Companion Animal Hospital’s purpose of providing compassionate, state-of-the-art veterinary care has never been more important. We want to assure you we are committed to being there for our clients and their loving animal companions especially during times when they need us the most. We recognize that this situation is changing rapidly, but please know we are taking this ongoing health threat seriously. We appreciate your understanding as we all navigate these unique times.

Our staff are the heart and soul of Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital.  Working together to attempt to minimize both our exposure to this virus and preventing the spread through our staff will be paramount in allowing our hospital to continue to provide service to our clients and patients. Since the beginning of this Covid-19 impact, our team has been ensuring that every area of the hospital is sanitized continually throughout the day. We have remained in contact with state and local health agencies to monitor development and receive guidance.

At this time, we remain committed to continuing to provide the highest quality veterinary services. In the interest of all of our clients and staff, we request that any clients who are exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or breathing difficulties please refrain from entering the facility. We respectfully request instead that a friend or family member bring your pet, or reschedule accordingly. Please DO NOT schedule an appointment within 2 weeks of travel without providing the clinic with prior notification.

We are  instituting the following protocols for our clients to help minimize exposure:

  1. For sick patients needing examinations and treatments:  you can call us upon arrival, but must remain in your car as we cannot allow anyone in the building at this time. We will obtain history either via phone or the car window. We will provide you with an estimate for services, and take your pet into the hospital for treatment. We will then return your pet to you and complete the visit.
  1. For prescription and food pick up; Please call the clinic when you pull into the parking space in front. We will bring your items to your car for your convenience.

  • Washing our hands between each appointment
  • Sanitizing all surfaces with extra focus on high touch areas. Please be patient as these extra cleaning measures will require more time.
  • Maintaining a minimum social distance of 6 feet.
  • Employees are not allowed to work with any symptoms of infectious illness.
